We are in the business of health care and not in the business of selling, renting or trading your personal information. However you choose to interact with us, we will only collect data that is necessary for us to deliver the best possible service for you and ensure you are reminded of appointments or other relevant information to your eye health. Your personal data
When you decide to attend Bill Opticians for an eye test or to buy a pair of glasses we will collect basic information about you (name, date of birth, telephone number and address, payment details), in addition to this, we may also collect details on current and past health and medication information (when relevant). If you attend Bill Opticians for a sight test or screening, we will also collect your examination, any test results and any information sent to us from other health care professionals regarding your ongoing care.
How do we use your data?
All of the information we collect about you is used to ensure we provide you with relevant products and the best services. In addition to your eye care, we will remind you when appointments are due and may suggest other relevant products and/or services that we believe may be of interest. We might also contact you for feedback on products and services we have provided to you.
Your data will be kept for as long as nationally mandated, unless you request otherwise.
Data security
To provide and manage our services your data is stored and processed using the Optix software. This system is run by Optix Software limited from their UK facilities that are certified to ISO27001 standard.
Data sharing
At Bill Opticians we will never knowingly share your personal information with another organisation, unless you have requested us to do so, such as in the event of an onward referral to a private or NHS organisation or for a second opinion. We may also share your information with external agencies, such as the police, for the prevention and detection of fraud and criminal activity. Should any claim be made, we may pass your personal information to our insurers and if our business is wholly or partially transferred to a third party, your personal information may be one of the transferred assets.
Access to your personal data
You are entitled to view, amend, restrict or delete your personal information that we hold.
If you would like to amend the information we hold for you, please speak to a member of the team and we will happily update your records.

You may ask that we do not send communications using any of the contact details we hold on our records, this may include SMS, telephone, email and postal information. You may also request that we restrict our communications to clinically necessary messages. Your communication preferences can be changed at any time by using the link at the end of emails and SMS messages or by writing to, or phoning Bill Opticians.
